The food is incredible and everything is made to order. Definitely try the cucumber mint water and at least one of everything ceviche, tacos, empanadas and dessert! The pineapple salsa, cheese and smoked tuna empanadas and shrimp taco were our favorites, but all is DELICIOUS. A really special spot to try in San Jose. Very sweet dog too.

When was the last time you ate a taco shop with hundreds of reviews and 4.9 stars? Never. You haven’t done it. It never happens. Well until Tropico. There are reviews that lavish praise on these tacos so you don’t need more of that from this review. You can read from others how amazing the taco shells are, so do you need me to say more? No. No you don’t. It’s sublime. Every taco we got we ordered seconds. When was the last time you ordered seconds? Never. Me neither. But I did at Tropico tonight. Things to know- it’s rustic. Very rustic. Very few tables but THEY DO take reservations so put your name in. A couple showed up thinking they could sit at an empty table but were told it’s an hour wait and left. So check in on line!!! Also know there is a dog named Lola and she will protect you and greet you when you walk up. I don’t know how Lola is so well behaved. It’s wild. She literally takes you to your table and sits guard. Wild. So be bold and come here for the absolute best tacos in all of Cabo.

So it has been months since our trip to Los Cabos from Portland Oregon USA. I am still thinking about these tacos. Please try the smoked tuna. Please try everything. The salsas were perfect. The tortillas were fantastic. The knife work was masterful. We ate at some of the "best" places in town and this spot is the most memorable and delicious. Small and casual but definitely top notch (From a very discerning eater from a hip food city).

Holy shit this place is really good. Get the battered shrimp taco and put the pineapple salsa on it you won’t regret it. Good prices, fantastic quality and flavor and presentation. Literal chef’s kiss

We were really impressed that one person is able to deliver this level of quality food and service by himself. Everything was so delicious! We also enjoyed the company of his dog. Now he just needs to refresh his aging patio seating and flooring

The presentation and the taste of the food was amazing. I had BBQ chicken taco, Fish Taco, Shrimp empanada, and ceviche tuna tostadas. You definitely need to taste the cucumber mint drink. Everything tasted delicious.

The food here is absolutely incredible! Highly recommend making a reservation ahead, as the kitchen is run by one person. We are a group of six, and the chef suggested we opt for an omakase style dining experience—it was the best decision we could have made. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, and you can truly see the chef’s passion and dedication in every bite. An unforgettable experience from start to the end.
